life happens

I love this project. I do. However, keeping this blog up to date has been a real challenge for me.

So, here's a week or more worth of pictures! Eep!

the days just fly by...

I have to say that I am pretty proud of myself for making it 40 days in this challenge! It is much better than I expected.

I have noticed that it is getting to be much more of a challenge to post my pictures everyday. Here are my shots from Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. :)

...but I don't WANT to do my school work

Today is a lovely day in NC. The sun is shining and the breeze is cool...NOT COLD. I want to be painting or something. However, after this post I will be getting back to work on a major assignment that is due tomorrow.

This morning, I started a wall for a friend of mine. I haven't finished, but I wanted to show off the outline. :)


When I got home, my husband and son had been playing in the driveway with sidewalk chalk. I saw the drawings and was reminded that really it is my husband with the talent.

I saw a newspaper covered vase, and it hit me! That's what I will do for G's preschool teacher!!! Her birthday is tomorrow, and I am "room mom."

I just happened to have a terracotta pot left over from a Holiday craft I did with G. We don't subscribe to the newspaper, so I found an old yellow pages and used the "florist pages"... and VOILA! A flower pot.

I'm sticky.

I tried today to make a glass tile pendant using a picture I printed and a tray/tile kit I purchased. I think it turned out pretty cute, but I almost did a better job of gluing my fingers together than I did with making the pendant.



I haven't quite figured out how I can actually make these and still be reusing. This one is going to be tough. ;)

And, of course here is today's shot o' the day.

Playing Catch Up, TGIF!

I hope everyone's week has been good so far. Just a few hours left until the weekend! Woo-hoo!

The weather in NC is supposed to be gorgeous (for winter anyway), and the family is hoping to get outside for some deck work!

crafting retreat?

I am sitting in my house making a to do list of all that I would like to accomplish this weekend, and I realized that I need a couple of days dedicated solely to arts and crafts. I wonder...is it possible to ever do that? Is there a retreat I can take? In my wildest dreams maybe.

So, here's me...wishing on a star, hoping that I can have a weekend of expression and creativity.

a new family member

Things are super exciting here at casa de la green mum. We got a new furbaby!!!! His name is Miles, and he's a 9 year old "Gollie." His previous owner is a super cool friend of a friend who had to move and just could not keep him.

He's a love bug, and we are so thrilled to have him.

In honor of Miles, we'll take a break from crafty stuff and just post our 365 challenge brag pics... :)

I have 3 days worth of photos to add, but first I have to squeal about the box that UPS delivered today. Maybe tomorrow I can show you one of my new ideas...Can say too much more until the stuff is together, but... yay! I*heart* UPS!

Also, recently I've been drooling over things in the Pottery Barn Kids Catalog. I've been particularly drawn to their "Plane Art Cable System." Well, the concept anyway. What I liked most is that it hung on the wall. So... I made this! I plan on taking better photos on the next one. ;)
